About

Catnip Corner is a small static site. It exists because I kept sending photos of other people's cats to friends and decided they deserved a place that is not a chat window.

Who writes here

Someone with a day job in systems administration, a balcony in Frankfurt, and a camera that is usually pointed at the ground. The domain — drcatnip — is an old nickname, not a medical title. Nobody here is a veterinarian.

How the site is built

Hand-written HTML and CSS, served by nginx from a small VPS. No JavaScript, no analytics, no fonts loaded from a third party, no cookie banner because there are no cookies. Images are served from this machine.

Photos

All photographs on this site come from Wikimedia Commons and are either public domain or CC0. Individual credits are listed on the credits page. If you are one of the photographers and would like a different credit line, write to the address on the imprint.
